Emergency Contraception

emergency contraception

Plan B is an emergency contraception service, using hormone replacement therapy (HRT), available from all Newline Pharmacy Branches. The service is for use by women who have had unprotected sex or who’s contraception methods have failed, such as a split condom or missing your regular contraceptive pill.

The Plan B Emergency Contraception Service

The Plan B service, sometimes referred to as the morning after pill, is available in all branches of Newline Pharmacy to females aged 13 years of age and over. The emergency contraception is taken orally in the privacy of one of our private consultation or treatment rooms.

One of our pharmacists will have a short consultation with you to discuss the suitibilty of Plan B contraception for you. All discussions are entirely confidential, including for under 16s. The pharmacist will then recommend the best contraception for your circumstances.

Emergency contraception works better the sooner you take it after having sex. For this reason, if you feel you need to make use of the Plan B service do not delay and try and see your pharmacist as soon as possible.
